A dos días del cierre de la sesión legislativa, el gobernador Pedro Pierluisi solicitó hoy al Senado renovar los nombramientos interinos de Eliezer Ramos Parés como secretario del Departamento de Educación (DE) y el de Nino Correa Filomeno para dirigir el Negociado de Manejo de Emergencias y Administración de Desastres (Nmead).
Se espera que el Senado ahora atienda estos nombramientos interinos en la sesión de hoy junto a otros nueve nombramientos en propiedad. Los nombramientos interinos de Ramos Parés y Correa estaban próximos a vencer al cierre de la sesión legislativa el próximo 30 de junio. La designación de Correa, sin embargo, surge luego de que el Senado aprobó una medida para que el veterano rescatista ocupara el cargo en propiedad, pero la resolución no pudo continuar el trámite legislativo debido a que la Cámara de Representantes culminó sus trabajos en horas de la tarde del viernes. Correa dirige la agencia desde julio del año pasado.
