Agitators for art: Oscillator Press aims for creative community cooperation

University towns attract creative people and contribute to an atmosphere ripe for imaginative cooperation. In recent years, downtown has been the incubator for some of these endeavors, including Anty Shanty, Dope Chapel and Resonator Institute. Involved with a few of these has been Norman artist and creative instigator Eric Piper. “Radical programmer” Piper has teamed up with fellow printmaker Jenna Bryan to launch Oscillator Press (OP), 315 E. Main St. Among OP’s stated goals is “energizing and connecting art worlds and the public.”

Ex-federal cop who tried to kill man with hammer loses appeal of decades-long jail term Updated Feb 03, 2021; A former federal police officer convicted of attempted murder for beating another man with a hammer lost his appeal of his 20-to 40-year prison sentence Tuesday. Instead, a state Superior Court panel rejected Eric Piper’s claims that he was the subject of an illegal search by police and that statements by his wife were improperly used against him during his Cumberland County trial nearly two years ago. Police said Piper, who was a civilian officer with the Defense Logistics Agency police at New Cumberland Army Depot at the time, broke into the victim’s Carlisle-area home in January 2018, beat the 29-year-old man repeatedly with the hammer and kicked him in his jaw and ribs.
