Lockdown writer s first book about his father s decision to give up drinking

AN events organiser from Barnoldswick has made the most of months of forced coronavirus lockdown by writing his first book. As well as being on furlough from his job, Jonathan Dickin, caught Covid in the summer, and was badly affected, but despite all, has written My Basketful of Happiness – Why I called Time on Alcohol. The book is all about his dad Andrew’s relationship with alcohol, before he gave up drinking for good, three years ago. “Dad’s life revolved round alcohol for most of his adult life – through the good times and the bad,” said Jonathan. “After giving up, he was just buzzing about how well he felt and what a huge difference it had made to his life. He wanted to share with others the reasons why he had finally called time on alcohol.”

Called Time to Walk, it’s the first outdoor component of Fitness+ and opens the service up to a new world of workouts. Apple seemingly goes out of its way to not call them podcasts, but Time to Walk is a very much in the vein. Each “experience” is an audio-only episode ranging from 25 to 40 minutes that requires an Apple Watch and a pair of Bluetooth headphones. Each episode features a famous guest who recorded their stories while “walking outside or in locations that are meaningful to them,” so it will feel like you’re going on a walk alongside them.
