Soon it would be a reality to vaccinate the entire population in India against the novel coronavirus, after prioritising risk groups, Union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said on Friday.
India has done extremely well in developing vaccines in the shortest possible time, and presently two vaccines have been given emergency use authorisation. In the next few days, also in the near future, we should be able to give this vaccine to our countrymen prioritising those who are at risk in public and private sectors. The government has already made known the scheme of things, Dr Vardhan said. ....

A portion of the jumbo Covid centre built in Wuhan-style to take care of coronavirus-positive patients has now been converted into a vaccination centre.
This particular portion of the Covid centre, which was used as an accommodation for doctors treating Covid-positive patients, is in Mumbai s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) area. Outside the centre, which is a makeshift hospital, is a huge ground where a spacious parking has been made for people coming to the vaccination centre. ....

Nationwide second Covid vaccination dry run begins; Harsh Vardhan says inoculation to start in few days

New Delhi, Jan 08: The second run of the nationwide COVID-19 vaccine dry run for the rollout of coronavirus vaccination began on Friday in all districts across the country - except Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
Union Health Minister, Dr. Harsh Vardhan visited Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Chennai to review the dry run for administering the Covid-19 vaccine.
The dry run today will be conducted in 736 districts across 33 states and Union Territories.
In short time, India has done well by developing vaccines. In the next few days, in the near future, we should be able to give these vaccines to our countrymen. It will be given to our healthcare professional followed by frontline workers, he said. ....
