Corus greenlights Toopy and Binoo movie A 2D-animated feature film from Echo Media featuring the animated cat-and-mouse duo will hit theaters in 2022 and then debut on Treehouse. May 26, 2021 Famous TV cat-and-mouse team Toopy and Binoo are heading to the big screen with Canada’s Corus Entertainment. Montreal’s Echo Media is producing an 80-minute, 2D-animated comedy-adventure in association with Corus. Toopy and Binoo The Movie (pictured) will hit theaters sometime in 2022, before airing on Corus-owned kidsnet Treehouse. Based on Dominique Jolin’s children’s book series of the same name, Toopy and Binoo first aired on Treehouse (in English) and Télé-Québec (in French) in the early 2000s. The IP was also adapted into a live stage show and a series of digital apps.

ABC, SBS nominated at Banff Rockie Awards 2021.

Eureka is again nominated for its US production of   Holey Moley. “We’re ecstatic with the range of high-profile international and Canadian programs that entered and are nominated for the 2021 Rockie Awards,” said Jenn Kuzmyk, Executive Director of the Banff World Media Festival. “This year’s nominees are a showcase of the spirit, creativity and truly exceptional work the global entertainment industry continued to produce amidst a year of challenge and change.  We can’t wait to share this year’s show via a special live stream on June 15th.”

Based on the YMA’s Statement of Quality, jury members have selected as nominees for Best Program, Live Action Non-Scripted (Ages 6-9): My Stay-at-Home Diary, produced by Lopii Productions and aired on TVOkids and PBS.org; Backyard Beats, produced by BGM Inc. and aired on TVOkids; and How Do You Feel?, produced by Riverbank Pictures and aired on TVOkids.
