We interviewed some key Twin Cities stakeholders, community voices, and leaders who will be central to what happens–or doesn t–in the year to come.  Qorsho Hassan, a fourth-grade teacher at Echo Park Elementary School of Leadership, Engineering and Technology in the Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan district, is the 2020 Minnesota Teacher of the Year. She’s the first Somali to earn the distinction. Which is slightly ironic considering that when Hassan told her mom she wanted to be a teacher, her mom warned her against it. But Hassan was undaunted and certain of the impact she could have.
