The Tokyo Games will be an Olympiad like no other. For starters, there’ll be no spectators cheering on their countries from the stands. Delegations will be reduced on account of COVID-related travel restrictions. Most commentators will be thousands of miles from Tokyo when the broadcast begins on July 23. All of which assumes that in the final countdown to the lighting of the Olympic flame the Games aren’t cancelled.
