  Charges were dropped April 28 against an Española woman involved in an altercation with city police at Dennyâs in February.    Maria Torres-Jaquez, 27, of Española, was facing three felony counts, a misdemeanor and two petty misdemeanor charges, after she and Española Police Officer Cody Lattin exchanged words at the restaurant over what Torres-Jaquez perceived as preferential treatment.    The preliminary examination was on April 28, in front of Española Magistrate Judge Alexandra Naranjo. First Judicial District Assistant District Attorney Kent Wahlquist, via a Google meet conference, called upon Española Police Officers Monica Salazar and Adrian Moya, however, neither were present. He also called upon Española Detention Officer Edward Martinez. ....
   A family dinner at Dennyâs ended with a woman being arrested for assaulting an officer and disorderly conduct on Feb. 28, after she became upset that city police officers got their food before she did.    Española City Police Officers Cody Lattin, Adrian Montoya and Monica Salazar went to the restaurant on North Riverside Drive at 9 p.m., to have dinner. When the food was brought to their table, the officers heard a woman sitting at a nearby table begin to make statements in a âloud, boisterous manner.â    The woman, later identified as Maria Torres-Jaquez, 27, of Española, said, âthatâs (expletive, expletive) that they get their food before we do,â Lattinâs report said. âThey think that because they are officers they get the (expletive) right to eat before us.â ....
