August 03, 2021 • (TNS) The late June heat wave pushed temperatures in Clark County, Wash., to record-breaking highs, and it generated a corresponding spike in regional electricity consumption as residents hunkered down at home and cranked up their air conditioning.
Energy consumption among Clark Public Utilities customers was 19,632 megawatt hours on Monday, June 28, the third and hottest day of the heat wave, which saw temperatures hit 115 degrees in Vancouver.
