Canton Man Latest Ohioan Arrested In January Attack On U.S. Capitol

Credit Canton Repository via FBI filing A Stark County man has been arrested in connection with the violent January riots at the U.S. Capitol. John Douglas Wright was taken into custody Monday morning on numerous federal charges. According to a 15-page criminal complaint, Wright was identified by four witnesses as well as videos posted to his social media accounts. He initially denied being involved in the insurrection, but was reportedly caught on security footage inside of the building. Wright allegedly told several friends on social media he intended to return to the Capitol for a second attack. Wright s next court hearing is scheduled for Thursday, May 5th.
