SOUTH ORANGE/MAPLEWOOD, NJ With flags at half staff and banners blowing on a chilly, breezy Memorial Day morning, the two towns remembered those who have fallen during military service.
In South Orange, the BSA Troop 60 presented the flag, read the names of those from South Orange who died during their service, and set a memorial wreath. In Maplewood, BSA Troop 5 s color guard presented the colors.
The invocations were presented by local clergy; Rabbi David Z. Vaisberg of Temple B’nai Abraham, Livingston, Member of Maplewood Clergy Association, did the honors in Maplewood. Pastor Terry L. Richardson, head minister of First Baptist Church and a member of the South Orange Planning Board, spoke for South Orange.
