National award for Leitrim students at Enterprise finals

A student from Lough Allen College, Drumkeerin has taken second prize in the Senior category at the National Final of this year’s Student Enterprise Programme.
The finals of the Local Enterprise Office initiative were broadcast virtually on Friday from Croke Park with An Tánaiste Leo Varadkar and Ambassador Derval O’Rourke speaking with host RTE’s Rick O’Shea, as students and teachers watched on from across the country.
Supported by Local Enterprise Office Leitrim, Amy’s Y2K Vintage won Second Place in the Senior Category. The winning student was Amy Bohan who worked under the guidance of her teacher, Sinead Dore. Amy’s student enterprise was called: Amy’s Y2K Vintage, which had phenomenal sales with her vintage clothing business.

Dromod Boxty, who are supported by Local Enterprise Office Leitrim, were winners at this year’s National Enterprise Awards. The awards, which took place virtually were broadcast online from the Mansion House in Dublin, are in their 22nd year and run annually by the Local Enterprise Offices.
Dromod Boxty, manufacture a range of homemade products including boxty, pancakes and potato bread from their base in Dromod took home the North West Regional award.
Joe Lowe, Head of Enterprise, said; “We are delighted that Dromod Boxty won the North West Regional award. This was a well deserved win as Aine has brought, what was a strong business to the next level, with her level of dedication, enthusiasm and vision for growth – LEO Leitrim are looking forward in continuing to support Dromod Boxty in the future.”

One of Leitrim’s most impressive businesses, Dromod Boxty, have been announced as a finalist for this year’s National Enterprise Awards. The awards, an initiative of the Local Enterprise Offices, will take place virtually on the 11th February.
Dromod Boxty were selected to represent Local Enterprise Office Leitrim at the awards and will compete against 29 other finalists for a prize fund totaling €50,000.
Dromod Boxty was founded by Timmy and Angela Faughnan in 1990 and manufacture a range of homemade products including boxty, pancakes and potato bread from their base in Dromod.

The finalists for the National Enterprise Awards have been announced and represent a diverse range of businesses that are supported by Local Enterprise Offices across the country.
The National Enterprise Awards Final will take place virtually on February 11.
Now in their 21st year, the awards celebrate small businesses and includes awards that recognise excellence in exporting, sustainability and innovation along with eight regional awards and an overall National Enterprise Awards winner.
The finalists are competing for a €40,000 prize fund.
The include businesses involved in Virtual Reality training (VRAI), Artisan pizza production (Pizza DaPiero), international TV and film design and production technology (Odyssey Studios), mobile canning (Bevcraft), e-learning and online management (Dulann), inflam
