Sustainable meat darling Belcampo admits to mislabeling meat at a Southern California location
The Bay Area company said it was an isolated incident after a former employee s Instagram videos went viral.

Belcampo Meat Co., the Bay Area-born sustainable meat hit that champions “meat you can trust transparency from start to finish,” acknowledged Tuesday that outside meat products were improperly sold at its Santa Monica location. The company known for selling beef, poultry and other meat from its own farm added that it was an “isolated incident” that didn’t impact Belcampo’s San Mateo and Oakland locations.

Peridas is responsible for incubating partnerships that result in the advancement and deployment of carbon management solutions and technologies, including the removal of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, or so-called negative emissions. Schmidt works with the Carbon Initiative, which aims to understand, develop and implement technologies for the removal of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Her areas of focus are geologic sequestration of carbon dioxide and carbon mineralization and advancing the deployment of these technologies.
