SPOKANE, Wash. More than 18,000 homes were without power across the Inland Northwest Sunday night.
High winds with gusts of up 50 mph hit the region around 8 p.m, knocking down power lines and power poles in some places.
Avista Utilities reported about 8,000 customers were without power from the South Hill, all the way north to Sandpoint.
Nearly 5,500 Kootenai Electric customers were in the dark and about 4,800 Inland Power customers were without service.

SPOKANE, Wash – As gusty winds blow through the Inland Northwest Sunday night, emergency managers want people to save 911 calls for true emergencies.
High winds hit the Inland Northwest just after sunset and have knocked out power to thousands of people.
Spokane Regional Emergency Communications sent a tweet Sunday night, asking that people report power outages to their power company, not 911.

Currently, Avista is reporting that more than 13,500 customers are without power Sunday night as strong wind gusts sweep across the Inland Northwest.

Inland Power and Light is reporting that over 6,300 customers are without power, mostly in Spokane and Bonner counties.

SPOKANE, Wash. The first snowfall of 2021 is coming down in Spokane!
The National Weather Service says a light snow will be coming down across the Inland Northwest Sunday evening into Monday morning. According to their snow map, it will not be more than an inch anywhere except for the mountain passes.

NWS warns that snowfall brings potentially dangerous driving conditions, and they urge drivers Monday morning to use caution when commuting to work, especially in Eastern Washington and North Idaho.
