Indian American Serene Singh July 1 was recognized with a prestigious global award for her achievements in social action or humanitarian efforts â The Diana Award.
Established in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, the award is given out by the charity of the same name and has the support of both her sons, The Duke of Cambridge and The Duke of Sussex, a news release said.
âThis award is more than just an honor. For me, it is an opportunity to connect with passionate and resilient leaders worldwide while also being a reminder of the impact continuing to burn flames of justice and equity has and will always have on others,â Singh said.

Michelle Obama announced the Global Girls Alliance, an initiative launched by The Obama Foundation to empower adolescent girls across the world through education.
