Some time afterwards, Moke located the victim at another address and the victim tried to explain where the money went, but was told he was a “liar”. Moke then called her partner, Joseph Reily Grace, a patched member of the Uru Taha gang, and handed the cellphone to the victim, whereupon Grace told the victim to stay quiet and stay where he was. A short time later, Grace arrived at the address with a long wooden stick which had a knife blade attached to the end.
The men demanded the victims hand over a Nissan motor vehicle, which they had recently bought, because Oldfield claimed the previous owner owed him a debt. The trio left the address telling the male victim it was “all good” but later returned at 11.30pm with Bryden Lee and Thomas Holland, both members of the Uru Taha gang. Oldfield, who was armed with a steel pipe, forcefully pushed his way inside when the door was opened and the others followed. They demanded the victim hand over the Nissan, but it had been hidden at another address due to concerns after the previous visit.

Police swooped on a Taranaki park on Sunday afternoon following multiple reports of a disorder involving gang members allegedly brandishing weapons. About four calls from concerned members of the public were made to police around 4.10pm after a “large group” of patched members of opposing gangs were seen at Corbett Park in Oakura. There were reports of a disorder and of the men having weapons, a police spokesperson said. However, there were no reports of any assaults and no arrests were made.

A Taranaki gangster involved in shooting up a rival gang’s pad and other violence charges involving firearms has had his jail sentence reduced by the Court of Appeal. In July, Tyson Disraeli Hutchinson was jailed for five years and four months after pleading guilty to a range of charges including participating in an organised criminal group, possession of a firearm, commission of crime with a firearm, discharge of a firearm with reckless disregard and assault.
