Cambridge City Council gives Airport approval for $2.2 million dollar grant CAMBRIDGE, Ohio Cambridge City Council met on Monday night and gave the Board of the Cambridge Municipal Airport their okay for a $2.2 million dollar grant for an engineering study to rehabilitate the apron at the airport. The airport apron, or tarmac, is the area where aircraft are parked, unloaded or loaded, refueled, or boarded. The grant funds will come from the F.A.A., with no cost to the city. Council also approved appropriations from the Police Department of $3,400 for equipment, an insurance reimbursement for over $4,300 for vehicle maintenance and $20,000 form the City Schools for the salary for the one of the district’s School Resource Officers.

Council hears update on city projects The Daily Jeffersonian City Engineer Nick Cunningham provide an update on construction projects within the city during the Monday night s City Council meeting.  In his report, Cunningham informed council that a new engineer, Mike Wall just started in his new position. It looks like he has a lot of experience that is going to benefit the city and I m so happy to have him on board, Cunningham said.  Cunningham also informed council that Clark Street is back under construction after a delay. Workers have started pouring concrete and anticipate doing the storm sewer work later this week or early next week.

Cambridge City Council hears from City Schools, Tree Commission

Cambridge City Council hears from City Schools, Tree Commission CAMBRIDGE, Ohio Cambridge City Council met on Monday night and heard from officials with the Cambridge City Schools and the Tree Commission. Cambridge City Schools Superintendent Dan Coffman informed Council that the District is making plans to relocate their bus garage, which has been located at Pine Field for many years. The district wants to move to a new location on Wills Creek Valley Drive, near Mayor Estates, close to the High School, Middle School and North Elementary to improve safety and efficiency. The move would also reduce bus traffic around Cambridge City Park. A change in Zoning will be necessary to allow for construction at the Wills Creek Valley Drive site. Coffman explains…
