LAWRENCE, Ind. (WISH) Police on Sunday identified a man who died Friday and the suspect charged in his shooting.
Officers with the Lawrence Police Department were called around 4 p.m. Friday to the 11000 block of High Grass Drive, north of 56th Street and Sunnyside Road, on a report of a person shot.
A man, identified Sunday as 70-year-old George Oakley, was found shot there and taken to an area hospital, where he later died, Deputy Chief Gary Woodruff said Friday.
Antawin Williams, 31, was arrested and faces a preliminary charge of murder.
Police initially said Oakley and Williams were related and staying in the house where the shooting happened. On Tuesday, the Lawrence Police Department issued a correction, saying Oakley and Williams are not related as family members although they knew each other.

LAWRENCE, Indiana Lawrence police are investigating after a man died in a Friday afternoon shooting.
It happened around 4 p.m. at a home in the 11000 block of High Grass Drive in Oaklandon.
A police department spokesperson said the incident began as a disturbance among individuals.
The man was later identified as 70-year-old George Oakley.
The suspect was located in the area and taken into custody by responding officers just after the shooting happened. The suspect is identified as 31-year-old Antawin Williams.

Police say both individuals knew of each other and were staying at the residence where the shooting occurred. The shooting was a result of an ongoing argument or dispute between the two individuals involved.
