Martyred soldier laid to rest in Waziristan

WANA: A havaldar of the Pakistan Army, who had embraced martyrdom in a firing incident, was laid to rest with state honours in Kaniguram area in South Waziristan tribal district on Sunday.
Havaldar Fathullah Kaikhel Mahsud had embraced martyrdom in a firing incident in Kaniguram area.
A large number of local people, civil and military officials attended his funeral prayer.
A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pak Army later presented a guard of honour and placed floral wreaths on the grave of martyred havaldar on behalf of Inspector General of Frontier Corps (South) Umar Bashir and WTF Kanigaram Brigade Brigadier Asif Maqsood. The martyred havaldar has left behind a widow, a 12-year old son and 10-year old daughter.

After three years of mutual learning with indigenous youth and based on the teachings of the case-study undertaken, Slow Food launched a small
prize to reward the best project proposals by indigenous youth.
This small contribution was aimed to indigenous youth
who participated to the training events held withing the IFAD and Slow Food project between 2017 and 2020 and distinguished themselves in being proactive in starting or continuing activities based on the good, clean and fair Slow Food principles.
Youth participants had to submit proposals aimed at creating or strengthening activities for the defence and promotion of their communities’ food heritage. 7 of them (majority being women-led) from Latin America and Africa were selected by a Committee (also composed in its majority by women) and the

WANA: Three hundred and sixty police personnel passed out after completion of their training at Manzai Fort in Wana in South Waziristan tribal district on Saturday.
The passed out personnel were earlier recruited as Khassadars and Levies and later integrated into regular police force after all the tribal areas were merged into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The Khassadars were imparted training by the Frontier Corps (FC), a paramilitary wing of the army, at Manzai Fort in South Waziristan.
Inspector General FC (South) Major General Umar Bashir was the chief guest while Regional Police Officer, Dera Ismail Khan Yaseen Farooq, Deputy Commissioner, South Waziristan, Khalid Iqbal Khattak, Deputy Commissioner, Tank, Kabir Afridi, District Police Officer, Tank, Sahibzada Sajjad Ahmad, Sector Commander Brig. Naiknam Baig, Commandant Gomal Scouts Colonel Mazhar and others attended the passing out ceremony.
