IHC grants bail to Asif Zardari’s aide National March 10, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday granted pre-arrest bail to former president Asif Ali Zardari s close aide Amjad Ikhlaq in a NAB call-up notice. A division bench comprising Justice Mohsin Akhter Kiyani and Justice Fayyaz Ahmed Jandran granted bail against surety bonds worth Rs100,000. The petitioner s lawyer Farouk H. Naek pleaded that his client had been summoned by NAB on receiving a cheque for Rs0.6 million. His client neither was involved nor named in mega money laundering case, he claimed. After hearing the arguments, the court granted bail to Ikhlaq and stopped NAB from arresting him till March 29. The court also served notices on NAB and sought its comments into the matter.

The business winners in Biden's relief package: Restaurants, concert venues and airplane manufacturers

Print article Restaurants, concert venues and airplane manufacturers all stand to benefit from the $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package the Senate just approved. They are among the few industries that won targeted help in the massive spending bill. Unlike its predecessor - the $2 trillion Cares Act, which proved a smorgasbord for corporate interests - the latest installment of federal aid focuses on funding state and local governments and schools and extra support for individuals. Lawmakers snubbed a wide array of businesses pleading for help from Washington. Gym operators and long-term senior care facilities are among those arguing Congress has left them facing further closures and layoffs even as the broader economic outlook brightens.
