Ukraine has criticised an Iranian report into the downing of a Ukrainian passenger plane last year as a “cynical attempt” by the authorities in Tehran to hide the true reasons behind the crash.
The Ukraine International Airlines’ flight 752 crashed minutes after taking off from the Iranian capital on January 8, 2020, at a time of heightened tensions during a regional confrontation with the United States. After three days, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) admitted that “human error” led to the plane being shot down with two ground-to-air missiles, killing all 176 people on board.
In its final report on the cause of the crash, Iran’s civil aviation body on Wednesday blamed an error by an air defence operator.
Ukraine International Airlines’ “flight over Kyiv”
Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) will be operating a couple of flights to nowhere in March, “at the numerous requests of beloved passengers,” which the airline calls “a real spring gift.” The flights are described as showing “the world through the eyes of a pilot.”
Tickets for these special flights cost $95 per person, and include the following:
A 70 minute flight over Kyiv on an Embraer 195, at an altitude of 900 meters
A tour of a Boeing 777 on the apron at Boryspil Airport
A photo in the cockpit and selfie with the pilot
A drawing for souvenirs and gifts

TEHRAN (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 10th February, 2021) The Iranian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday denounced the Canadian CBC news broadcaster s recent article, which alleged that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif was heard saying in an audio recording that the downing of the Ukrainian International Airlines flight 752 was an intentional act.
On Tuesday, the media outlet claimed that the Canadian government and security agencies were examining the audio recording, on which a man identified as Zarif said that there were a thousand possibilities to explain the downing of the jet in January2020, including a deliberate attack.

Speaking to Radio Farda, Ukraine s Deputy Foreign Minister, Yevhen Yenin, said on Wednesday, January 6, that Kyiv is waiting for the identification and punishment of the real Iranian officials responsible for shooting down Ukraine International Airline s passenger plane last January.
Yenin, who is in charge of following up on the tragic case, asked that Tehran announce the real reasons behind targeting the plane with two deadly missiles.
On Wednesday, on the eve of the anniversary of two rockets firing by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on UIA Flight 752, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani once again promised that a court would definitely try those responsible for the tragedy.
