Nonprofit Agencies Report Staffing Difficulties

WBGZ Radio 4/30/2021 | By Kevin Bessler - Illinois Radio Network The pandemic has affected many industries’ workforces in Illinois, including nonprofit agencies.  Some are have a difficult time retaining or recruiting employees. Charles Cribaro, director of human resources at Pioneer Center for Human Services in McHenry County, said the nonprofit is experiencing staffing shortages and they are not alone. “Agencies are experiencing through my conversations with some of my counterparts throughout the county, horrible, horrible numbers on their recruitment and applicants applying,” Cribaro said. “I talked with one individual at a facility near us who said they have a recruitment team of three and they are literally twiddling their thumbs because there is no activity.”

(WSFA) - Easterseals Central Alabama cooked thousands of pounds of crawfish Saturday, all for a good cause. This was the organizations 17th annual Autism Crawfish Boil. Money raised from Saturday will benefit autism services provided at Easterseals Central Alabama. “Not only do they provide incredible services for families affected by autism, speech therapy, occupational therapy, HIPAA therapy, but even more importantly, they provide access to testing and timely diagnosis,” Crawfish Boil Committee Chair Stefania Jones said.

Lacy Lynn lends her soulful voice to the Lacy Todd Duo, and has new music in the works

A chance meeting led to the birth of a powerful music duo that’s been making rounds in the River Region, including a couple of local gigs this weekend. The Lacy-Todd Duo (Lacy Lynn and Todd Fulmer) perform in Prattville on Friday at Adrienne’s Downtown Bar from 9 p.m.-midnight. After a little bit of sleep, they’ll be back in action the next morning from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Riverwalk Stadium’s Club Car Bar during the 17th annual Autism Crawfish Boil in downtown Montgomery. Lynn and Fulmer met thanks to a house party held by another of Montgomery s music greats, Wyatt Edmondson.

News briefs: Over $40,000 awarded to Ross County projects Chillicothe Gazette CHILLICOTHE  – The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio and the Ross County Board of Developmental Disabilities (RCBDD), known locally as the Pioneer Center, are pleased to announce that six Ross County projects have received funding through the Landrum Endowment Fund. These grants will support projects related to improving the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities in Ross County. The Landrum Endowment Fund’s second annual grant round was designed to support nonprofit and public organizations serving those with developmental disabilities in Ross County by working across the areas of community advocacy, inclusion, and employment, while also supporting parents and families. Over $40,000 was awarded to six recipients, including Camp Cattail Inc., Easterseals Central and Southeast Ohio, Mighty Children’s Museum, Ohio University-Chillicothe Student Success Center, Pickaway-Ross Career and Te
