Montgomery County COVID-19 Statistics
Since Friday, Jan. 15, the Maryland Department of Health has reported 1,552 new cases of COVID-19 in Montgomery County 540 Saturday, 409 Sunday, 284 Monday, and 310 Tuesday. The county’s cumulative case count is 54,836.
Montgomery County recorded 23 new coronavirus-related fatalities since Friday, Jan. 15 four Saturday, five Sunday, eight Monday, and six Tuesday bringing the death toll to 1,196.
The county has a rolling seven-day average of 6.45% for positive COVID-19 tests, which is a decrease of 0.6 from Monday’s average rate of 7.05%. The county’s positivity rate is lower than in 21 of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions.
Montgomery County leads the state in total COVID-19 related fatalities with 1,196, but not in total cases. Prince George’s County has 1,152 fatalities and the most coronavirus cases in the state with 63,592 cases.
