SRIHARIKOTA: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has congratulated ISRO scientists for the successful launch of PSLV- C 51 on Sunday. He wished the ISRO team success in all its future endeavours.
India s Polar rocket PSLV C-51 carrying Amazonia-1 of Brazil and 18 other satellites blasted off from this spaceport on Sunday, in the first mission of the year for ISRO.
As per reports from ISRO twitter handle at the end of a nearly -26hour countdown, the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C51 lifted off from the first launch pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR), at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh, at around 10.24 am.
However, lander Vikram missed the primary landing site and went for the second. The visuals went missing henceforth. According to Isro chief K Sivan, communication from Vikram lander was lost and data is still being analysed. If India does succeed, it will be the fourth country to land on the moon, after the erstwhile USSR, US and China, to cement its place among the world s space-faring nations. India s Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle, GSLV MkIII-M1 had successfully launched the 3,840-kg Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft into the earth s orbit on July 22. Chandrayaan-2 satellite had begun its journey towards the moon leaving the earth s orbit in the dark hours on August 14, after a crucial maneuver called Trans Lunar Insertion (TLI) that was carried out by Isro to place the spacecraft on Lunar Transfer Trajectory .

ISRO will adopt 100 Atal Tinkering Labs across the country to promote scientific temperament among students and encourage them for space education and space technology related innovations. This decision was taken by ISRO and Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog at a virtual meeting on Monday.
Through this collaboration, the Indian Space Research Organisation will facilitate coaching and mentoring of students in advanced 21st century cutting-edge technologies, including those related to space, an official statement said.
