Downtown Indianapolis sees major improvements ahead of March Madness

The city of Indianapolis and local organizations have come together to pump over $1 million into beautification efforts downtown ahead of next week s March Madness tournament.
The streets are clean and ready for an estimated 400,000 pedestrians to walk along the area of Mile Square over the roughly three-week tournament. Georgia Street is now closed to through traffic and ready for business.
Here are a few improvements that the Department of Public Works and Downtown Indy, Inc. touted just days before the start of March Madness.

The Department of Public Works unrolled $850,000 in capital improvements to Georgia Street, a key connector between Bankers Life and the Indiana Convention Center downtown. ....
