Erie International Airport s executive director is expected to return from a leave of absence within the next week or two, but the reason for his leave remains undisclosed.
Erie Regional Airport Authority Board President Andrea Zdaniewski made the announcement at the start of the board s regular meeting Wednesday and after a 30-minute executive session with the nine-member board.
Zdaniewski described Derek Martin s leave as a personnel matter and said the board would not make any additional comment on the reason for Martin s leave. The Airport Authority has received a number of queries about the status of its executive director, Derek Martin, she said. Mr. Martin is currently on leave. At this point in time, the authority has no reason to believe he will not be returning to his role as the executive director at the Erie Regional Airport Authority within one to two weeks.
