4 New States May Legalize Cannabis In 2021
So far in 2021the cannabis industry as a whole has been able to grow at an exponential rate. This current growth has also played a part in the better days of trading of some of the top marijuana stocks. For example, when word started to circulate about better cannabis legislation in the U.S. some cannabis stocks started to perform better in the market. Right there is a big push for ending cannabis prohibition in the United States.
Making cannabis federally legal will open more doors for the industry in its entirety. Along with federal cannabis, reform comes more states that are looking to pass some form of state-level cannabis legislation. By more states going legal will only add more value to the U.S. cannabis industry as well as give a bit more of a push for Congress to legalize cannabis on a federal level.

(KNSI) – St. Cloud area Representative Dan Wolgamott’s legislation extending pandemic workers’ compensation has advanced through committee with unanimous support.
According to a press release from Wolgamott’s office, Tuesday, the House Labor, Industry, Veterans and Military Affairs Finance and Policy Committee heard testimony on legislation to extend the workers’ compensation benefits afforded to public safety and health care workers who are either sickened or quarantined due to exposure to COVID-19.
Similar legislation, also introduced by Wolgamott, was signed into law last April, which says that if a public safety or healthcare worker contracts COVID-19, it is assumed that it happened in the line of duty and would fall under workers’ compensation. This would protect the employee’s paid time off or sick leave from being used to make up for lost pay.

NEW ULM Greg Peterson, the Brown County Veteran’s Service Officer and Minnesota Association of County Veterans Service Officers (MACVSO) President, testified before the Minnesota Veterans & Military Affairs Finance & Policy Committee Feb. 25 at the State Capitol via Zoom.
“As president of the service officers (association), I felt compelled to be the lead testifier, and since we recently attended the Robert Niemann Memorial at Soldier’s Rest (at the New Ulm City Cemetery), I knew how much his daughter Ann Bakkensen has worked for 30 years on the national level with POW/MIA efforts,” Peterson said.
He testified on behalf of Minnesota Senate File 1041, a resolution memorializing the United States government to bring home every American prisoner of war/missing in action veteran (POW/MIA).
