Army, DOST, LGU Jones ink agreement on Project CEST implementation

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, May 10 (PIA) - The 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army s 86th Infantry Battalion, Department of Science and Technology (DOST) - Isabela and the Local Government Unit of Jones have signed an agreement for the implementation of Project Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) held on May 6, 2021.
The signing of the Memorandum of Agreement was made between 86IB, PA Civil Military Operations Officer 2Lt. Judily Ann Bugante, DOST - Isabela head Lucio Calimag and Jones Mayor Leticia Sebastian.
Under the agreement, the three signatories will be helping former rebels and the residents in conflict affected areas in the municipality of Jones.

BUENAVISTA, Agusan del Norte, May 6 In support to Executive Order (EO) No. 70 series of 2018, Institutionalizing the Whole-of-Nation Approach in Attaining Inclusive and Sustainable Peace, Creating a National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict and Directing the Adoption of a National Peace Framework , the Northern Mindanao School of Fisheries (NMSF), Barangay Matabao, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte headed by Officer-in-Charge Nancy C. De Guzman has facilitated the Anti-Insurgency Campaign conducted by the 23rd Infantry (Masigasig) Battalion (23IB), Philippine Army under the Acting Commander Lt. Col. Julius Cesar C. Paulo attended by 245 students.
ILOILO CITY, Jan. 11 (PIA) – A total of 233 members and mass supporters of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) in Panay Island formally surrendered to the government.
The CPP-NPA-NDF members and supporters came from Calinog, Iloilo and Tapaz, Capiz who surrendered earlier to the 12th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, said Acting 12IB Civil Military Operations Officer 1Lt. Nigel John Gayanilo in a press release.
The group formally withdrew their support to the communist organization during a formal ceremony on January 8, 2021 in Calinog, Iloilo through the members of the Western Visayas Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC).
