Vietnam veteran and Glendale resident Alfred Taitano woke up on the morning of March 16 to accept his grand prize after winning the Military Star âYour Holiday Bill is on Us Sweepstakesâ at the Luke Air Force Base Exchange.
A small group of service members and participants gathered for the ceremony as Taitano was presented with the grand prize in the form of an oversized check for a $2,500 Military Star statement balance.Â
Before he received his prize, Taitano said it was an exciting moment and a great surprise. He added that he and his family are âvery grateful.â
The Army & Air Force Exchange service exclusively awards this âMilitary Starâ card to service members and their families. It allows recipients to build credit responsibly. The line of credit can be used at military exchanges and commissaries regardless of where the military members serve.
Even if it never occurred to you to wrap a spicy boudin sausage in sweet, fluffy bread and eat it for breakfast, you may find yourself nodding vigorously at the idea. It’s quite a good idea, and you can make it a reality at Cajun Donuts II in Garland.
While enjoying your boudin pastry, you might close your eyes, mistakenly think you’re in New Orleans and order a beignet. If you do, a friendly employee will fry some up fresh for you, so you might as well let the good times roll.
The shop also offers a better-than-basic array of standard doughnuts. Cake doughnuts and decorated character doughnuts for the kids are customer favorites, while cinnamon-sprinkled doughnuts holes are a must add-on to any order.
