Rocky Mountain Power announces new grants to support Utah, Wyoming and Idaho communities this spring
SALT LAKE CITY (May 10, 2021) Even as COVID-19 vaccines roll out across the country, many communities are still facing challenges from the pandemic and the organizations that support them are still seeing unprecedented demand.
In spite of the odds, local programs that address critical issues such as food insecurity, homelessness, domestic violence, child abuse, elder issues, mental health and community safety have continued to find creative new ways to deliver help quickly and safely, even while facing additional budget constraints.

Entegrus, local electricity distributor to 17 communities in Southwestern Ontario, announced a combined $80,000 donation to Salvation Army organizations in Chatham-Kent, St. Thomas and Strathroy this holiday season. Jim Hogan, President & CEO of Entegrus says an unprecedented amount of people will be looking for assistance this year and they have allocated funds to support the organizations in our communities who support our vulnerable population. The company allocated the funds based on customer population. The Salvation Army Community and Family Services Strathroy, will receive $11,000. The Salvation Army St. Thomas Citadel & Community Ministries will receive $23,000.

Thanks to a $50,000 contribution from the Estate of Donna Vera Evans Bushell as well as silent donors, the Salvation Army St. Thomas has purchased their first âMobile Canteenâ vehicle.
Serving St. Thomas and Elgin County, the new specially-equipped vehicle will provide support to first responders during emergencies and disasters, as well as outreach for homeless and marginalized individuals.
While the Salvation Army owns and operates Mobile Canteens in many other communities, this vehicle will be the first one purchased specifically to serve St. Thomas and Elgin County

A local utility is giving back to the community in a big way.
Entegrus is donating $200,000 from its Corporate Donation Program to the United Way’s COVID-19 response and recovery fund. The money is earmarked for helping the municipality’s most vulnerable citizens.
“Entegrus is known for assisting other utilities in times of crisis after devastating storms in both Canada and the United States,” says United Way CEO Steve Pratt. “It’s comforting to know that when help is needed in our own backyard, Entegrus is here to answer the call. This significant contribution will help position us to weather this unprecedented storm we are facing in our own community, ensuring basic needs will be met for those who need it most.”
