Night Curfew in Haryana: Haryana announces night curfew from 9pm to 5am | Chandigarh News

On Sunday, 3,440 fresh cases pushed the infection tally to 3,16,881.(ANI photo) CHANDIGARH: Amid fear of rampant spread of Covid-19 in the state, Haryana government has imposed night curfew from 9pm to 5am, thereby prohibiting the movement of individuals for all non-essential activities between the time period. This Curfew order will come into force with effect from April 12 till further orders. During the Curfew timings no person will leave his home or will move on foot or by vehicle or travel or stand or roam around on any road or public places. A spokesperson of Haryana State Disaster Management Authority said that in exercise of powers vested under Disaster Management Act, 2005, there will be complete prohibition on the movement of individuals for all non-essential activities between 09.00PM to 05.00AM in the state.

Trader shot at, protest erupts in Karnal | Chandigarh News

Representative image KARNAL: A trader was shot at by three unidentified miscreants inside his shop at Gharounda town in Karnal district on Friday evening. The victim, identified as 48-year-old Vinod Juneja, was admitted to a hospital, where his condition was said to be stable. Agitated over the incident, traders downed the shutters and held a protest on Saturday demanding the arrest of the guilty. They also blocked the service road of National Highway-44 near railway road chowk for around two hours over “police inaction”. Gharounda Vyapar Mandal president Madan Lal said three miscreants barged into the shop and asked Vinod to hand over the cash. When he opposed them, the miscreants fired at him. Vinod received one bullet in his stomach.

Arms seized at Pakistan border | Chandigarh News

Amritsar: Police recovered arms and ammunition from near the international border on Sunday and named a Pakistani smuggler with links to Sikh hardline groups for a bid to revive militancy in Punjab. Amritsar (rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) Dhruv Dahiya said the police recovered 1 FAL 222 rifle with one magazine and nine live rounds, 1 AK-47 rifle with one magazine and five live rounds, one .303 bore gun with one magazine and seven live rounds and one .30 bore China-made pistol with one magazine. Acting on specific input, the police made the recovery from near the border pillar number 99/3 near Border Security Force (BSF) Pul Moran Border outpost, about 10 metres inside the Indian territory from the border with Pakistan.
