Image Design Question
With today’s featured image, why did I place the bird on the left side of the frame looking out?
What’s Up?
Not much. Today is Friday 16 April 2021. The forecast here at ILE is for cloudy skies and southwest winds. I probably will not head down to the lake this morning. I spent much of yesterday working on e-mail #9 for the SONY Alpha a1 Set-up and Info group. I will be sending it out this morning. Wherever you are, and whatever you are doing, I hope that you have a great day.
This blog post took about an hour to prepare and makes 114 consecutive days with a new one. Please remember to use my B&H affiliate links or to save money at Bedfords by using the BIRDSASART discount code at checkout. Doing either often earns you free guides or discounts, and always earns my great appreciation.
What’s Up?
On Monday I got back in the pool, did my bursts, and took a morning and afternoon health walk. After a decent morning photo session, I got lots of work done on the R5/R6 Camera User’s Guide.
Today is Tuesday 29 December 2020. It is 7:20am as I type; Jim and I are on our way to Lakeland to check out the American White Pelicans and to see if the Great Blue Herons nest is still active; for the past few years the nest failed rather early.
This afternoon, I will be getting more work done on the R5/R6 guide.
What’s Up?
After re-fitting the pool’s heater/chiller a few months ago, and installing a new filter system more recently, the only thing left to fail was the pump. I cannot say that anymore. The pool was a balmy 86 degrees last week, but I was at DeSoto when the pump failed and with a mild cold front over the weekend the pool was down eleven degrees by Tuesday. This morning it was down to 73! I opted not to swim yesterday and will not be swimming today. Pool Works is coming first thing in the morning today Wednesday 23 December 2020.
LAKELAND A jury voted Tuesday morning to convict James “Jimbo” Pennington of first-degree murder in the 2017 killing of a neighbor in the Indian Lake Estates community.
The jury deliberated about 4½ hours over two days in the first murder trial held in 10th Judicial Circuit Court since trials were curtailed by a state order amid the COVID-19 pandemic. After the jury announced the verdict, Circuit Judge Jalal Harb sentenced Pennington to mandatory life in prison for the killing of Devyn Martin in October 2017.
Harb also dispensed a concurrent five-year sentence for tampering with physical evidence.
Pennington, now 67, fatally shot Martin after the pair got into an argument on Pennington’s property, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office reported at the time. An investigation found that Martin arrived at Pennington’s home on a golf cart the afternoon of Oct. 26, 2017, and began talking to Christopher Walters, who was repairing a bike in the yard.
