The decision was taken at Thursday’s meeting attended by prominent healthcare and industry federations, including CII, Ficci, PHD Chamber of Commerce, Assocham, Indian Chamber of Commerce, NATHEALTH, Indian Medical Association and AHPI.

Private sector hospitals have decided to pool demand and access vaccines through bulk pharma distributors with cold chain facilities for the third phase of vaccination for the 18-45 years age group starting May 1. They have also asked the Centre to continue with the present supply chain for two months to ensure continuity.

Industry body Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) on Friday demanded higher interest subvention for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) on loans to boost employment generation in the country.
The city-headquartered chamber in its budget demand also called for simplification of personal taxation by lowering tax rates for greater compliance.

Budget 2021: The two percent interest subvention scheme for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) on loans must be extended with enhanced coverage of three-four per cent to the extent of Rs 300 lakh, suggests Mr Vikash Agarwal, President, Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC). The two percent interest subvention scheme for micro, small and medium enterprises on loans was extended till March 31 with few business friendly provisions. The coverage of the scheme is limited to all term loans and working capital to the extent of Rs 100 lakh, which industry body Indian Chamber of Commerce expects to be extended to Rs 300 lakh in the upcoming Budget 2021.
