Update (8:05 a.m.):
In a news release from the Amarillo Police Department, officials released more information regarding the incident in Hereford where James Mireles was arrested Wednesday.
According to the release, the department s critical incident response team was requested to assist on a call of a barricaded suspect in Hereford. The suspect, later identified as Mireles, has been involved in a pursuit with the Deaf Smith County Sheriff s Office and barricaded himself into a residence in the 1000 block of Julian.
The department s SWAT team, as well as negotiators, attempted to make contact with Mireles and after several hours, gas was deployed into the residence. According to the release, Mireles then exited the residence and surrendered to police.

HEREFORD, Texas (KFDA) - One student is in police custody after a social media threat, according to Hereford ISD.
The district says Hereford Preparatory Academy received a call from a parent around 9:30 a.m. that a student had posted a picture on social media with a weapon, warning others not to go to school.
Hereford ISD security and the Hereford Police Department were notified.
Campus administrators and the Hereford Police Department investigated the post.
A paintball gun was located at the home of a student, and the student was taken into custody.

DEAF SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KFDA) - The Deaf Smith County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide after the body of a woman was found in a Deaf Smith County home.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a 911 call on May 14 stating that someone had killed his mother.
Deputies responded to the home where they found the body of a woman.
Officials say a family member of the woman was the last known to see her alive and was sought for questioning.

HEREFORD, Texas (KFDA) - The Hereford police have arrested the suspect accused of multiple burglaries during late March.
The Hereford police received reports of two businesses, the Pup Dog Grooming and a private shop, had been burglarized around March 23.
Officers were able to find a suspect with the help of security cameras and later confirmed the identity of the suspect as 31-year-old Gerardo Higareda.
Officials investigated the three separated incidents and learned two more businesses, Deaf Smith County Humane Society and Hereford Farmers Gin had been burglarized that same night on March 24.
