Tamil Nadu CM Stalin also advised the authorities to increase awareness of the benefits of COVID-19 vaccination and take steps to fully utilise the vaccines available across the State
The Tamil Nadu Cabinet led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin advised authorities to ensure that medical oxygen supplied to government and private hospitals is being utilised properly and to make sure that it is not wasted as the State is supplying it amidst several constraints.
“We are all deeply concerned about the threat of ‘variants of concern’ and these reports demonstrate that the issue is complicated,” said South African Health Minister Zweli Mkhize

“The National Mortality Rate has been falling and currently stands at 1.09%,” the Health Ministry said Maharashtra, Karnataka and Delhi are among 10 States that account for 71.75% of the 4,03,738 new COVID-19 cases registered in a day, the Union Health Ministry said on May 9.
The other States in the list of 10 are Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, and Haryana.
