Nilaweeras win brother battle as Janali, Savini clinch women s doubles title – The Island

SSC Open Ranking Tennis National champions Janali Manamperi and Savini Jayasuriya claimed the women’s doubles title of the SSC Open Ranking Tennis tournament concluded in Colombo on Friday. Manamperi and Jayasuriya beat Dinethya Dharmaratne and Anitra Dharmaratne 6-0, 6-3 in the final. Dinethya and Anitra were also the runners up in the Under-16 girls’ doubles final where Ave Maria Convent player Vishmi Serasinghe partnered Nesangi Hemakumara of Bishop’s College to win the title. Chathurya Nilaweera and his brother Vichinthya of Stafford International School won the brothers’ battle in the Under-18 boys’ doubles. They beat Thehan Wijemanne and his brother Methwan.

In the women’s singles, Nelini Jayasuriya (bt. Vonara de Alwis 6-0, 6-1) and Savini Jayasuriya (bt. Arella de Zoysa 6-1, 6-0), Hasali Gajaba (bt. Tania Doloswala 6-2, 6-2), Sethmi Sumanaweera (bt. Zeenath Zihar 6-1, 6-1), Janali Manamperi (bt. Saajida Razick 7-5, 6-4) and Oneli Perera (bt. Dinethya Dharmaratne 6-4, 6-4) won their matches to reach the quarter-finals.

Unacademy Road Safety World Series T20 adds new teams England Legends & Bangladesh Legends Bangladesh Legends replaces Australia Legends who pulled out of the series and England Legends have been included as the sixth team by Updated: Feb 18, 2021 11:25 AM Unacademy Road Safety World Series today announced two new teams - England Legends and Bangladesh Legends for the T20 series which will start at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur from March 2 to 21, 2021. Owing to Covid-19 travel restrictions, Australia Legends had to pull out of the series. They will be replaced by Bangladesh Legends while England Legends have been included as the sixth team for this series.
