Armenia’s caretaker FM discusses situation after Azeri incursion with his Austrian counterpart
Acting Foreign Minister of Armenia Ara Aivazian on Tuesday held a telephone conversation with Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg.
The conversation focused on the situation created by the incursion of the Azerbaijani military into the sovereign territory of Armenia. Aivazian presented in detail the latest developments, reaffirming the principled position of Armenia that the Azerbaijani troops must be immediately and unconditionally withdrawn from Armenia’s sovereign territory, the Foreign Ministry reported.
Both sides stressed the need to maintain regional stability and security. In this regard, they highlighted the need for the comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and addressing the humanitarian issues caused by the war.

Pro-Palestinian demonstrators take to the streets across North America
Thousands of Pro-Palestinian demonstrators took to the streets across North America on Saturday, as Israel s military operation towards Gaza continued. Demonstrations took place in cities such as New York, Boston, Washington D.C. and Montreal.
The protesters waved Palestinians flags and shouted slogans such as Freedom for Gaza. Many of the demonstrators wore Palestinian symbols such as Keffiyeh scarves.
President Joe Biden has expressed support for Israel s military operation, but has also signaled concern over the loss of Palestinian life in Gaza. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has urged Hamas and Israel to deescalate tensions.

The UN Security Council will meet on Sunday to discuss the situation in Gaza, following a compromise with the US delegation which initially wanted a virtual session to be held on Tuesday.
On Sunday morning, IDF Spokesman, Brigadier General Hidai Zilberman, told military correspondents that the army has continued its operation against the “Metro” tunnels in the northeast and center of the Gaza Strip, dropping about 150 new bombs on them. He explained that there would be additional stages in attacking the tunnels, and the IDF would proceed with its action against the tunnels. Zilberman pointed out that the millions that had been sent by Qatar to Gaza had found their way to the Metro project.
Israel s PM thanks several countries for standing with Israel
The Austrian Federal Chancellery raised the Israeli flag as a sign of solidarity, in Vienna. Iran s Foreign Minister cancelled a visit to Vienna following the Austrian show of support for Israel.
He particularly thanked the countries who flew the Israeli flag on their official buildings like Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovenia.
Iran’s foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif cancelled a visit with his Austrian counterpart to show displeasure that the Austrian Chancellor had flown the Israeli flag in Vienna.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday thanked several countries for standing with Israel in the conflict with Hamas.
