The number of people flying in and out of Sydney Airport jumped to its highest level since the outbreak of COVID-19 in December because of a 10-day period when most travel was unrestricted nationally before states slammed their borders shut again.
Sydney Airport had 659,000 domestic passengers passing through in December, more than double the number in November, and the most since March, when 1.3 million travellers took to the skies.
