YOUNG people were given a warm welcome back to school this week. And one headteacher reported her pupils were happy to be back in class and took to the new covid-testing regime well. Schools were forced to shut to all but select children in January as part of the third national lockdown. Secondary schools reopened with covid-testing stations in place for pupils. Head of The Derby High School Helen Hubert said:“It has been absolutely wonderful to finally welcome back all our students. The period of remote education has been incredibly successful but there is no substitute for face-to-face teaching.
