Both Vercillo and DeSanto-Kellogg addressed the standing-room-only audience in the courtroom of Ashland County Common Pleas Court.
DeSanto-Kellogg’s term commenced Tuesday and will run for six years. She will preside over all juvenile matters in the county including delinquent, neglected, abused and dependent children.
Many years as a family law attorney
In her remarks, DeSanto-Kellogg recalled her many years as a family law attorney who regularly dealt with child and family matters.
“I have big plans and ideas to protect our children and help them to be safe and develop into responsible and happy adults,” DeSanto-Kellogg said. “I hope to do so with the help and input of the others in the community and agencies throughout the county. I especially look forward to working with teachers, law enforcement and Job and Family Services.”
