June 29, 2021 MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) A Macon man ends up in the hospital after a standoff with police. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says they received a call just after 1 p.m. about someone with a weapon making threats to harm himself or possibly others at a home in Ashford Park. They say when deputies arrived on the scene, they head gunshots from the back yard. Deputies then called for backup and notified neighboring child care facilities and day schools to activate safety protocols. ....

New Denton County community will bring hundreds of homes Meritage Homes is planning a new residential development in Corinth. Meritage Homes builds in more than 20 residential communities in North Texas.(Meritage Homes ) Meritage Homes has purchased land in Corinth for its Ashford Park residential project. Construction is set to start later this year on the development, which will include 208 two-story bungalows and 229 single-family homes. The new homes will be priced from the high $200,000s. “At Ashford Park, we will offer affordable single-family homes with a simpler home buying process, quality construction and energy efficiency built into each home,” Meritage Homes Dallas division president Austin Woffinden said in a statement. “Building on our success in the thriving city of Corinth, Ashford Park will sit adjacent to a previous Meritage development, Terrace Oaks.” ....
Jacob Wayne Arnold of Ashford Park, Crundale, appeared before the court in Haverfordwest yesterday, Tuesday February 23. He admitted a drug-driving offence, which was committed at Rocky Park, Pembroke on October 8. The court heard that a police drugs test showed he had 142 microgrammes of the cocaine metabolite, benzoylecgonine, in one litre of blood, the legal limit being 50. The court took Arnold s guilty plea into account and he was disqualified from driving for a year and fined £120. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a surcharge of £34. ....
