(Jessica Ng/CBC) Seven people were arrested on Saturday at a demonstration in response to Ontario s police watchdog s ruling to not lay criminal charges against the officer who shot and killed Ejaz Choudry, a 62-year-old man with schizophrenia. Choudry s family and community members gathered in Mississauga around 1 p.m. outside his apartment building, at the intersection of Morning Star Drive and Goreway Drive, where he was killed while having a mental health crisis last summer.

Ending up as a star on Battle of the Blades was never something Campbell expected, but when fellow Canadian women’s national hockey team member Natalie Spooner proposed the idea to her, she thought it could be something fun and exciting to try. “It was kind of an interesting route of how I got involved,” she said. “They have a process for recruiting and they were looking for different athletes and it’s been kind of an odd year with Covid and hockey being uncertain at the time. She’s a judge on the show and she’d previously been on the show and she’s a former teammate of mine, so she was actually the one in the conversation with the cast.
