She’s honored to have marched with the participants in today’s demonstration. “It’s been my honor to march with these brave immigrant essential workers or the children of essential workers who’ve been representing 11 million people in this country who’ve been at the front lines of the pandemic, who have families to feed, who have received up to date no cash benefits, no access to unemployment, no access to good healthcare, and we’re here to say enough is enough. MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Ninety mile in nine days – that is how much people marched to demand national and state legislators take action to help undocumented immigrants. Immigrant essential workers and nonprofits marched from Milwaukee to Madison this week, calling for citizenship for all. Locally, they also called for lawmakers to reinstate drivers licenses. Marchers were also joined by state and local leaders and members of the Wisconsin Farmers Union. Essential immigrant workers to pressure lawmakers to include citizenship option in national infrastructure bill June 27, 2021 7:53 PM Christina Lorey MADISON, Wis.– Dozens of immigrant workers are getting ready for the last leg of their 9-day, 90 mile march, from Milwaukee to Madison. Tomorrow, they’ll walk from Olbrich Park to the Wisconsin State Capitol tomorrow, where they’ll hold a rally, pressuring lawmakers to fight for a citizenship option in the national infrastructure bill, which is slowly making its way through Congress. The march, organized by Voces de la Frontera, started last weekend. For the past eight days, dozens of immigrant essential workers, men and women who’ve been working in kitchens, grocery stores, and schools all throughout the pandemic, have been making their way to Madison.
