On Friday the group lobbying for union representation failed to reach the threshold for voluntary recognition agreed on with management, winning 52% of votes but not enough to allow it to bargain with the company, according to a statement from the union. “In a recent anonymous online election conducted by a neutral third party, the Communications Workers of America did not achieve the agreed-upon majority needed for a union to be recognized at Medium,” a Medium spokesperson said in an email.
