Clarence Rowe, who used his platform as president of the Central Brevard branch of the NAACP to push for more recognition of civil rights martyrs Harry and Harriette Moore and a host of other social justice issues, died Wednesday. He was 82.
Rowe, who never fully recovered from a massive stroke in 2003 that left him in the care of friends and family, had been in declining health in recent months. He was set to be honored this month by the city of Rockledge with a street renaming.
