Kenney concedes this was an error in judgment both on his part and Huckabay’s.
He should have told his chief of staff to go home and unpack. Huckabay should never have planned the trip in the first place, when Albertans were being told they couldn’t even visit family over the holidays.
A chief of staff is expected to have sharp political judgment and a keen eye for political danger to the boss. There wasn’t much of either going on that day.
