Wimbledon all but secure survival - Fred Teasdale - Tiffin School League one AFC Wimbledon achieved a huge victory in their fight to avoid relegation with a draw at home to fellow lower side Rochdale. They drew three goals to three with an incredible game which went back and forth. Wimbledon now need just one point to guarantee safety which seems very possible but they are not safe yet. The opening minutes of the game were devoid of any chances with both teams failing to register a single shot on target and possession mostly equal. However it was Rochadale who had the first shot on target in the 41st minute with Wimbledon conceding a corner and Jake Beesley scoring from close range to the centre of the goal. After the break Wimbledon conceded again with Conor Shaughnessy assisting Gabriel Osho who scored a header from the centre to the bottom left corner. At this point Wimbledon looked out of the game.

SWINDON Town sank to the foot of the League One table following a thumping 4-1 defeat away at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday evening. A woeful first 45 set the foundations for a horror performance, with goals from Joe Pigott, Will Nightingale and Ayoub Assal putting the hosts three goals ahead at the break. Pigott piled on the misery early in the second half before Tyler Smith pulled a late consolation goal back for the visitors. With victories for Wigan Athletic and Rochdale earlier on in the day, Town dropped to the foot of the table – seven points off the Latics in 20th – with four games to go.
