Kuwait: KCWA resumes Konkani MaiBhas classes for 2021

Kuwait, Jul 28: Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) resumed MaiBhas Konkani Classes on Friday July 17, 2021 at 3.00 p.m. through Zoom virtual platform. Jeneviv D’Souza led all in prayer and thanked the Lord for resuming MaiBhas Konkani Class.
Maria Rinna D Souza, the main coordinator of MaiBhas Konkani Classes welcomed the gathering and briefed the main aim of this milestone.
KCWA President – Ruth Clara Veigas appreciated and encouraged all registered students in her opening note and thanked the teachers for their passionate and dedicated service.

Members of City College of San Francisco s extended community are speaking out about proposed layoffs that would lead to cuts in classes and programming.
It is anticipated that the college s board of trustees will vote at its May 10 meeting to go forward with the plan. It already approved the sending of layoff notices to 163 faculty members and 34 administrators across 39 departments as a way of dealing with a projected deficit of $33 million.
Now, the faculty union, the American Federation of Teachers Local 2121, and members of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors are advocating the city provide emergency funding to the institution, which has struggled with budgetary problems for years.

New editions of two navigational charts for Auckland Harbour have recently been released, providing enhanced safety as Auckland mariners take to the water in significant numbers over the summer sailing season. The new charts are the result of a collaboration by Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) and Ports of Auckland in which LINZ updated the charts with data collected by Ports of Auckland.
National Hydrographer Adam Greenland says LINZ, as the New Zealand Hydrographic Authority, is responsible for producing nautical information for safety of navigation including hydrographic surveying and charts.
