A Mechanicsburg man is facing charges after police say he tried making illegal fireworks.  Johnathan Park, 33, was arrested and is charged with causing and risking catastrophe, recklessly endangering another person, prohibited offensive weapons and weapons of mass destruction after the incident on Wednesday, Upper Allen Township Police responded to the Geneva Greens Apartments on Wednesday evening for reported burn victim.  Through investigation, officers found that Park s bed caught fire while he was making homemade fireworks. Park also had explosives and explosive material that was not properly stored, and could have endangered neighbors.

Lower Allen Township Police said a tree dislodged from the embankment on 3:45 p.m. in the area of Lisburn and Old Forge roads. The tree fell into the road, hitting the two vehicles, including a blue pickup. One of two vehicles crushed by a large tree falling along Lisburn Road on March 14, 2021.

Cumberland, Adams and Franklin counties experiencing outages of 911 system Updated Jan 20, 2021; Several south-central Pa. counties are reporting outages of the 911 phone system on Wednesday afternoon, according to social media posts from officials. Franklin County’s Emergency Service Department tweeted there is a phone outage affecting the three counties’ 911 and non-emergency lines. The problem was first reported just after 2 p.m. Texting 911 is still an option in Franklin County. There is a major phone outage that is affecting Adam s, Cumberland and Franklin County s. Lower Allen Township Police (717-975-7575) Larry Wagner, 57, of Lancaster, was arrested Dec. 17 on a warrant and charged with forgery, theft by unlawful deception and bad checks after police said he made a $5,000 remote deposit into a Members 1st account and then withdrew $250. Two additional checks for $500 each were deposited. The checks were returned as counterfeit, and Wagner failed to make good on the amount owed after he was contacted by the credit union. State Police at Carlisle (717-249-2121) Goran Arsov, 36, of Garfield, New Jersey, was not injured when he lost control of his 2015 Chrysler 200 while attempting to change lanes on Interstate 81 northbound near mile marker 40.5 in Dickinson Township at 10:42 a.m. on Dec. 17. The car went into the median, spun and overturned.
