The Oro Grande School District recently saw two of its own honored by the Association of California School Administrators.
The ACSA named Dr. Kimberly MacKinney, Oro Grande’s assistant superintendent of Educational Services, the 2021 ACSA State Curriculum & Instruction Administrator of the Year. Meanwhile, Nelda Colvin, the district’s executive director of Student Services, was named the 2021 ACSA Region 12 Special Education Administrator of the Year.
MacKinney has been at the forefront of the Oro Grande School District’s approach to providing equitable access to meaningful learning opportunities for students and staff since she came to the district in 2014, according to a district statement. She has been instrumental in adapting Oro Grande s instructional programs to meet the needs of its students and families in the ever-changing COVID-19 environment.
